Being in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jude & Serene threw an intercontinental shout-out for Singaporeans to check out their friend / singer Shirlyn Tan. She’s releasing her first solo album at the Esplanade this weekend, entitled “Newfound Jealousy”.
Like a wireless network repeater, I’m here to boost the signal a little more and to inform you that Shirlyn will be performing at the Esplanade’s Outdoor Theatre, this Saturday (7th April 2007) at the following times: 7.30 – 8.15pm; 8.45 – 9.30pm; 10 – 10.45pm. Yes, it’s free!
If I can make the time to go down, I’ll do poor Jude and Serene a favor by recording an exciting shakycam video of Shirlyn’s performance for them to see (for you as well of course!). If you want to see if Shirlyn’s worth your time (aren’t we picky?), you can sample her tunes on her official web site or her MySpace page. Don’t know about you, but she sounds like Singapore’s very own Alanis Morissette
Aside: Making rounds in the blogosphere is Alanis’ “this is the kind of crap you’re listening to?” remake of My Humps
