Today at the Web 2.0 Workshop…

Intro to Web 2.0 @ ETC (Fall 2006)

It was a hit! Just like last semester, by having workshop participants “tag themselves”, I could easily explain how this post-it notes metaphor works on the web. Tags are one-word descriptors and they are one of the founding pieces which makes up the social web. Looks like this guy has been web-two-point-oh-ed

Aside: Cameron Marlow, Mor Naaman, Marc Davis and Danah Boyd just released a revised version of their Hypertext 2006 paper on tagging, entitled “HT06, Tagging Paper, Taxonomy, Flickr, Academic Article, ToRead“. Like Snakes on a Plane, the title says it all. Happy reading!

  1. Participants will feel silly when they do it alone, but once you get a few to start, the rest won’t hold themselves back. čÖé
