Watch Streaming TV through Parallels on MacBook

The World Cup 2006 has been a must-watch for many soccer fans out there, yet more interestingly, it’s spurred various upstarts at making peer-to-peer TV a reality. There are several Windows-based apps out there for watching the games, though I am more interested in seeing what the world has to offer on their tubes.

Thanks to a tip from my buddy Cai, I’ve tried out PPStream and TVant through Parallels and I must say they work damn well. Thing is, since most of these apps originated from the Chinese, I have trouble deciphering the channel listings, even through Bablefish.

Does anyone know of any interesting channels to watch?

  1. I am currently using PPLive and TVUPlayer.
TVUPlayer has much less channels while PPLive’s channels are mostly Chinese (Speaking/Subtitle).

  2. vineetb: No tv tuners were involved. Simply use one of the listed Windows apps and connect to a TV streaming P2P server.

  3. very new to streaming tv. can you elaborate on the folllowing… No tv tuners were involved. Simply use one of the listed Windows apps and connect to a TV streaming P2P server.
