Sneak Peek at upcoming Web 2.0 Workshop: What is RSS?

Web 2.0 Workshop Sneak Preview: What is RSS?

Inspired by Dion Hinchcliffe’s Web 2.0 illustrations, I made simpler ones for my upcoming workshop on Monday. Bear in mind that my workshop is intended for university faculty, who be using this knowledge to facilitate pedagogical and information management objectives.

In the diagram above (which has less arrows for asthetic reasons), I explain how Prof. Alex Halavais fostered the collective intelligence of his communication theory class though blogs, wikis, and del.icio.us. Students conveniently read everything via RSS newsreaders and web-based aggregators.

UPDATE: The presentation is now available here.

  1. This is neat! čÖé

Btw, I always confuse your ‘ETC’ with the ‘ETC’ at my college. We also have an ETC (Entertainment Technology Center) here in CMU. Obviously way different.

  2. Ivan: Cool! If I didn’t have so many things to juggle, I’d be doing this webby thingy full time… oh wait, I am doing it full time. Too many full-time jobs and no sleep!

jangace: ETC is such a generic name… right next to ACME čśŤ
