My deepest respects to Chris Barr, who practices his talent for digital media in the most meaningful of ways. His latest venture is a project simply entitled “17 minutes” where he delves into his personal experience with suicide. This involves a daily ritual of spending 17 minutes of his life in meditation at different locations, then collapsing back to earth. Do note that he’s been at this everyday and as winter gets harsher, he gets bolder standing 17 minutes in the cold. I’ve personally seen him coming to work shivering all over. I am tempted to say that he’s nuts, but his deep personal motivations compel him along this tedious journey. To discover his personal motivation for doing this and why the project is called 17 minutes, visit his 17 minutes videoblog.
