Mac heads know where to look for rumors on new Apple developments, but here’s a recap for the rest of us. Apple has set aside Oct 12th as a day to present new products to the media. While many thought video iPods are coming out, ThinkSecret believes that the time wasn’t ripe for it.
Apparently while the hardware is ready, Apple thinks that consumers still don’t have a legal way to easily transfer movie DVDs onto their media devices. Instead, expect the big iPods to go bigger, about 80gb in size. One major change might be in the color of the iPod, but we’ll have to see.
I’m more excited by the expectation of updated PowerBooks since they would sport higher resolution displays. The screen resolution is expected to increase by about 15 percent on the 15- and 17-inch models. I’m a big fan of the 12″ Powerbook, and really wish for it to go widescreen, as well as get a serious speed boost. I’m not asking too much am I?
