Availableonthursday

Heard about availableonthursday.com?

As seen from his web site: “Chris Barr is Available on Thursday” is a collaborative live art and documentary project. Events, actions, ideas, situations, etc. is scheduled by the public for Chris every Thursday for the months March and April. The schedule for each Thursday is posted on this site in order to encourage the gathering of audiences and the recording of community documentation.

Well I thought Chris had a seriously wicked idea, so I decided to put him through his paces…

This is what I told Chris Barr to do:

March 10th, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

I would like Chris to randomly pick around people on campus listening to their MP3 players and ask them what they are listening to at that point in time then ask what they are going to do next. This exercise is to see if people have a “soundtrack” based on actions they anticipate doing. Once done, blog it!

Scheduled by: Kevin Lim
Location: UB North Campus

Chris blogged the results.

Did people listen to a particular “soundtrack” while performing specific tasks?
The answer was a resounding “No.”
