Meritocracy is synonymous with Singapore. Not only do you see this come into question on many Singaporean blogs, but Wikipedia even has Singapore listed as the first and most robust example of Meritocratic states (the collective decided so!).
In a nutshell, meritocracy is a system of government or other organization based on demonstrated ability (merit) and talent, rather than by wealth, family connections, class privilege, cronyism or other historical determinants of social position and political power.
Using Let Tekken Decide, I pitted “democracy” vs. “meritocracy” in a scientifically uncertified bid to answer the persistent question of which is better for Singapore. While I should have ran this several times, I figured that the results would be too random to find anything truly significant (i.e. this is a joke).
Aside: Now we just have to figure out what to do with the rest of us labelled “D” for Dumb.
